Adelonema wallisii 'Camouflage', a plant with foliage that doesn't go unnoticed
When hunters or soldiers don their camouflage gear, it's to go unnoticed. But not Adelonema wallisii 'Camouflage'. This cultivar obtained from adelonema wallisii is distinguished by its grey, white or yellow mottled foliage.
How to recognize Adelonema wallisii 'Camouflage'?
A perennial with a compact habit, Adelonema wallissi 'Camouflage' is barely 20 centimetres high and has a 15 cm spread.
The short, thick, curved stems grow from a rhizomatous stump.
The leathery, elliptical leaves are up to 20 centimetres long. Bright green and shiny, they are highlighted with dark green, yellow, gray or even white mottling.
The plant is grown mainly for its decorative foliage. Flowering is rare indoors. But you may be able to spot an inflorescence composed of a burgundy spathe and a white spadix. It appears on a short flowering spike in the heart of the foliage.
Adelonema wallisii 'Camouflage' is toxic to animals and humans. It causes digestive problems if ingested, and its sap can cause skin irritation. Remember to wear gloves when pruning the plant, and keep it out of reach of your dog or cat.

Watering
Water your Adelonema wallisii 'Camouflage when the potting soil has dried on the surface, for at least three centimetres.
Supply the plant with non-calcareous water at room temperature. Rainwater is best. If you don't have any, you can filter mains water or leave it to stand for 24 hours.
After watering, check the saucer or planter. If stagnant water appears, empty it. It could rot the roots.

Repotting
